“Lamborghini Road Monument” has chosen Italian flair and creativity, conferring the award to two design firms from Italy.
The idea behind the international architectural competition, launched in September by Automobili Lamborghini, was to choose the two best installations inspired by the House of the Raging Bull, and have them placed by the gates of Sant’Agata Bolognese, the home town of Lamborghini.
The projects submitted by the firms ACQ Studio and 0.9 stood outfrom all the others and were though particularly impressive by the jury.
The firm ACQ Studio references the Lamborghini style with a monumental project that will consist of geometrical surfaces and intersections featuring bold, essential and multifaceted lines. The work, in gold-coloured material just like the Lamborghini shield, will measure 12.5 meters in height.
The project put forward by 0.9, by contrast, is a tribute to speed and dynamism.
The installation reproduces sections of a Lamborghini super sports car whose appearance changes according to the angle of observation, just as we experience when viewing a Lamborghini running in a high-speed race.
The goal of the competition was to enhance the local area with installations that would leave a mark in contemporary architecture.
“Lamborghini Road Monument“, in collaboration with YAC, Young Architects Competitions, appointed a special international jury comprised of the distinguished panel members Zaha Hadid Architects, Studio Fabio Novembre, Studio Libeskind and Foster + Partners.
